Obituary of Anna N. Rush

Anna N. Rush (nee Ponti) of Pennsville, NJ, passed away on November 24, 2011 at age 83 after a brief battle with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. She is predeceased by her beloved husbands Earling E. Owens in 1967 and Lawrence E. Rush Jr. in 2008, and son Mark Owens. She is survived by her brother Francis Ponti and sister Gloria (Eugene) Fekete, and her children Earl (Marjorie) Owens, Larry (Marti) Owens, Frances McBride, Angela Owens, Anne (Kevin) Kirby, Harriette (Joe) Darnell, Larry (Susan) Rush, Pat (Ron) Roman, Mary (Neil) Hess, her 25 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and her loyal dog Kelly. Anna was a graduate of Glassboro State College, a teacher, and a dedicated wife and matriarch. She enjoyed swimming, dance, yoga, running, race walking, gardening, shopping and was a 2010 Senior Olympics gold and silver medalist. Relatives and friends are invited to call Wednesday 7-9 pm or Thursday 8:30-9:30 am at Laughrey Funeral Home, One North Broadway, Pennsville, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted 10 am Thursday at Queen of the Apostles Church, Pennsville, NJ.
