Howard Joseph Herrmann Jr. of Pennsville, NJ went home to be with his Lord on November 20, 2011. Born on October 20th, 1933 to Howard Sr. and Alma Bruce Herrmann, Howard grew up in Deepwater and Bridgeport, NJ before graduating from Paulsboro High School in 1951. He spent four years in the United Stated Navy as an Aviation Photographer, serving on the aircraft carrier USS Randolph and in the Glynco Blimp Squadron in Brunswick, Georgia. Following his discharge, he returned to South Jersey and began work at Dupont's Chambers' Works. He married his beloved wife Ruth Fay in 1955 and had three sons. He was an avid sports and wedding photographer for over 40 years. In his later years, he enjoyed attending and photographing his grandchildren's athletic and musical events. Most athletes at Pennsville over the past 40 years have had photos given to them by Howard. Howard and Ruth. They were original founders and lifetime members of the Christian Life Center and also active in the Mended Hearts Program at Christiana Hospital. Howard is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ruth Fay Reed, his three sons, Howard III and his wife Larraine, Charles Sr. and his wife Francine, and Douglas and his wife Donna, his sister Helen Nixon of Albany, Georgia, and his 9 grandchildren, Howard IV, Erik, Clint, Casie, Amber, Charles Jr., Jessica, Jeremiah, and Julia Herrmann. Friends may call from 7:00 - 9:00 pm on Tuesday, November 22nd and from 9:00 am - 10:00 am on Wednesday, November 23rd at the Christian Life Center in Pennsville, NJ. A funeral service will be at 10:00 am followed by internment at the Salem County Veteran's Cemetery.
