Mary Letitia ("Susie") Brunette (née Smalley), 87, of Pennsville, NJ, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at Merion Gardens in Carneys Point, NJ. A lifelong Pennsville, NJ resident, Mary was born on January 25, 1937 to George and Alma Smalley. Mary graduated from Penns Grove Regional High School and worked as an executive assistant for 40 years at Delmarva Power and Light until her retirement.
Mary had a deep love for nature and took great pleasure in seeing animals in their natural habitats, a passion she carried throughout her life. She was best known for her devotion to her family as a loving sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. Quietly generous, she also supported numerous philanthropic causes close to her heart.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Glenn M. Brunette, Sr. as well as her son Glenn M. Brunette, Jr. and his wife Elizabeth, grandsons Alex and Jason Brunette, brother George Smalley and his wife Kathy, and nieces Bonnie, Colleen and Katie. Mary is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Sandra Smalley.
In accordance with her wishes, a private service was held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Foundation (PO Box 781352, Philadelphia, PA 19178-1352, USA or https://give.chop.edu/).
