Kay Horace Dorrell age 91 went home to be with the lord on Friday, October 18th, 2024. He was born in Salem New Jersey August 28th, 1933, to the late Ernest Dorrell and Olive Evans and his beloved wife Cynthia Hart Dorrell of 53 years. He survived by his sons Mark Dorrell (Luann), of Monument, CO and Darren Dorrell (Niki), Newark DE and his daughters Cynthia Dorrell Labriola (Dave), Woodstown NJ and Dana Dorrell Duchesne, Monterey CA and his brother Larry Dorrell (Wendy), Alloway NJ. As well as his six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
He graduated from Woodstown High School then serving his country in the United States Air Force, rising to rank of Technical Sergeant during the Korean war. After serving his county he graduated from Philadelphia College of Pharmacy & Science. He worked for 37 years at the Lawrence Pharmacy, in Woodstown, New Jersey with strong dedication serving Woodstown.
He loved taking his family on vacations, playing golf, spending time with his animals and enjoying card games at the Woodstown Moose Lodge. He was one of eight brothers from Alloway, New Jersey, was deeply connected to his community. He cherished the simple joys of life, often driving through Alloway and Woodstown, reflecting on fond memories of his youth and the good old days. He held a strong sense of love and pride for the towns that shaped him, always eager to reminisce about the past and the people who made it special. His warmth and loyalty to his roots will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Burial will be private at the Salem County Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Salem County Humane Society, 214 Game Creek Rd, Pennsgrove, NJ 08069. (salemcountyhumanesociety.org)
