Obituary of Winifred C. Coney

Winifred Clancy Coney, born October 10, 1924, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 26th. Wini was born to Alice (Davies) Clancy and John Clancy in Salem, NJ. She was a graduate of Penns Grove Regional High School, as well as The Keystone Secretarial School in Swathmore, PA. She was employed in the medical department at the Carney's Point Works until 1959 when she chose to become a full-time, stay at home mother. Wini served on numerous boards and committees, as well as being a professional volunteer, throughout her lifetime. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Maniglia (John) Pennsville, NJ, a grandson, Brian Maniglia (Macey) and great-granddaughter Kirra Maniglia, Pennsville. She is also survived by nephews Steve Hosier (Mary) of Cleveland, OH and Richard Hosier (Amy) of Old Lyme, CT. Wini is also survived by her great nephew Will Hosier (Jessica) of Rock Spring, GA, and their daughters Cordelia and Frances as well as her great niece Georgia Orchowski (Matt) of Cleveland OH and their daughters Isla, Henrietta, Theodora and Winifred and Hillary Maassel (Nate) of Atlanta, GA and their son Otto. Predeceased by her husband, Kenneth R. Coney on October 28, 2013, brother, John L. Clancy, August 10, 1975, Parents, John Clancy and Alice Davies Clancy. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00AM, October 30th at St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, Carney's Point,NJ. Friends may call on Tuesday evening, October 29th from 6 – 8PM at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville. Burial will follow at the Lawnside Cemetery, Woodstown. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a memorial contribution be donated to either Salem County Meals on Wheels, 90 Market St. Salem, NJ 08079 or The Pennsville Animal Shelter, 94 Industrial Park Rd. Pennsville, NJ 08070.
