Patricia Marie Gaidis Obituary

Patricia M Gaidis, age 75 of Pennsville, NJ died Friday May 10, 2024 at the Cooper University Hospital, Camden, NJ. She was born in Garfield, NJ to the late Frank Szczypien and Mary Macek Szczypien on March 17th, 1949, along with her twin brother, Patrick.

She was a former resident of Asbury Park and Lakehurst NJ and has lived in Pennsville, NJ for the past 39 years.


Patricia adored her three granddaughters and spending time with them. They each held a special bond, and she made each one feel uniquely treasured and loved.

Their most precious times were simple pleasures; a conversation, a dance they shared, or a walk on the boardwalk.


Patricia was an empathetic listener and a mentor to those closest to her. She provided loving counsel and guidance that would help navigate any of life's situations.

She never missed a birthday or anniversary, ensuring every person in her life felt remembered and special.

Patricia's laughter and love of life were boundless. She was cherished by all and brought joy to every life she touched. Patricia adored her grandchildren, relished her travels, and found peace in her garden and days at the beach. Her spirit, full of joy and laughter, will forever be missed and lovingly remembered.

Patricia is survived by her husband Peter N Gaidis III of Pennsville, NJ, her life-long companion of 55 years with whom she honeymooned in Seaside Heights, NJ and have since enjoyed hundreds of memories at the NJ Shore.

She is also survived by: Son, Joseph and wife Julie of Skaneateles, NY, daughter Tracy and Jon Graiff of Pennsville, NJ; Granddaughters Laci E. Gaidis(19), Reese M. Gaidis (17), Monroe E. Graiff (5); Sister Bernice McVeigh, Brother Patrick Szczypien, Teresa Gaidis, Christine Cook (Edward), Paul Gaidis (Linda), Robert Gaidis, 16 nieces and nephews.

Patricia is predeceased by her parents Frank and Mary Szczypien, Peter II and Mary Gaidis, sister Diana Martino (Szczypien), Jerry McVeigh (Bernice), Leslie Walker (Tommy, Dewey)

Services will be held Saturday, June 8th, 2024 at Laughrey Funeral Home, 1 North Broadway, Pennsville, NJ, with Visitation from 11am-12pm and a Memorial Service commencing at 12pm.

A celebration of life will be held after the Memorial Service from 1pm - 4pm at the Pennsville VFW, 171 South Broadway, Pennsville, NJ.
