On May 5th, 2024, Betty Joy Haupt went home to the Lord. Betty was a devout, founding member of the Lutheran Church of St. Ambrose, where she had been the organist and choir director, due to her love and passion for music. Betty was very well known for being a wedding organist and a retiree from Astra-Zeneca. Betty was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Pennsville Fire & Rescue Company and a member of the Red Hats. Betty is survived by her brothers Howard Crothers and his wife Anna of Ocala FL, Robert Crothers and his wife Barbara Griffith of Lake Placid, FL, sister Carol Gladhill and her husband Larry of Carneys Point, NJ, sons Benjamin A. Crist of Elkton, MD, and Brian A. Crist of Pennsville, NJ, her grandchildren, Jonathan T. Crist, Patrick and Bradley Smith, Tabitha Geary-Jones, Ashley Jones, Caden Stollman, and a great-grandchild Harrison Derohn, as well as various nieces, nephews and cousins. Betty is predeceased by her mother Alvine Crothers, father Howard G. Crother, stepmother Pearl Crothers, sister Thelma Voorhees, husband Frederick "Fritz" Haupt, daughter Lynda Jones, and stepson Theodore "Ted" Haupt. A celebration of life will be held on June 4th, 2024, at the Lutheran Church of St. Ambrose. Visitation will be at 10:00am, followed by services at 11:00am. www.laughreyfuneralhome.com
