Obituary of David Pollock

David Pollock Obituary 2/22/1939 – 4/11/2024 David Pollock, 85, Pennsville, NJ went to be with his Lord on April 11, 2024 at home after a battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held at Park Bible Baptist Church on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at 1:00 PM with the Reverend Timothy Rehmer officiating. A calling hour will be held at the church from Noon-1:00 PM. Laughrey Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements. David Pollock was born at home in Paulsboro, NJ to Marie Pollock (Stephens) and Manual Pollock on February 22, 1939. He went to high school at Paulsboro High School and graduated in 1957. He served in the United States Army for two years and was honorably discharged in 1963. While in the military, he earned certifications as a Rifle sharpshooter and an Expert 4.2 Mortar. Mr. Pollock was employed at the Paulsboro A&P Market for four years. He worked at DuPont Chambers Works for 34 years as a Tank Car Repairman and retired as a Foreman. Following his retirement, he did some consulting work. Mr. Pollock enjoyed telling "dad" jokes, reading historical books, swimming in the pool, vacationing at the shore, and visiting Virginia where his daughter and her family live. He attended Park Bible Baptist Church for many years. Mr. Pollock is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judith Dickerson Pollock, of Pennsville, NJ; a daughter, Dawn M. Pollock of Exmore, VA; a son, Stephen D. Pollock of Pennsville, NJ; a grandson, Andrew P. Taylor (Morgan) of Painter, VA; a great-grandson, Ashton R. Taylor of Painter, VA; and a great-granddaughter, Blair D. Taylor of Painter, VA; a brother, Frank Pollock (Joan), of Sicklerville, NJ and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Marie and Manual Pollock and his brothers: Marman (Bunky), John, and Randall Pollock. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Park Bible Baptist Church 95 Sparks Ave. Pennsville, NJ 08070 or a charity of one's choice. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Pastor Timothy Rehmer and the nurses and staff of Bayada at Inspira Health.
