William C. Troupe, 81 of Wilmington, DE formerly of Pennsville Township passed away, surrounded by his family, on Friday March 8, 2024 at the Inspira Medical Center-Mannington. He is survived by his daughter Lori Tomlin (Vernon), sons Kenneth Troupe (Dawn), and Steven Troupe (Dawn Luzzo Troupe) all of Pennsville, grandchildren Tyler Tomlin, Jessica Troupe, Krystel Bracely, and Kasie Troupe, 4 great grandchildren, and a sister Ann Troupe Hallock. He was predeceased by his parents William D. and Katherine O'Dea Troupe, nephew Michael E. Gibbon and former spouse Nancy Crispin Hocknell.
Bill was born on July 26, 1942, in Salem, NJ. He was a 1960 graduate of Salem High School. On July 21, 1960, he entered the US Navy, serving on the U.S.S. Rigel at Norfolk, Virgina until his discharge on October 10, 1963. Following his discharge he lived with his family in Pennsville, New Jersey. He was previously employed by DuPont Chambers Works and served as an officer with the New Jersey Marine Police.
Bill and his family were members of the Queen of the Apostles Church, and he was a member of the church men's club. Bill was also an active member of Community during his years in Pennsville through his membership in the Pennsville Jaycees, the Pennsville Democratic League, and as a member of the Pennsville Township Board of Education and the Knights of Columbus. He was also an announcer on our once local radio station WJIC.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM on Thursday March 14th at the St. Marys Roman Catholic Church, 25 Oak St., Salem, NJ where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the Mass. Burial of Cremains with military honor will follow at the Salem County Veterans Cemetery, Pilesgrove, NJ.
