Obituary of Michael W. Rowe

Please share a memory of Michael to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Wayne Rowe, affectionately known as Mike, who peacefully departed this world on February 8th, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at his home. Mike, aged 75 leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to his family and community. Born to James and Violet Rowe in Reading, Pennsylvania, Mike's journey was one marked by service, commitment, and an enduring love for his family. Graduating from Wyomissing High School in 1966, he answered the call to duty and honorably served his country as a proud member of the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. His bravery and sacrifice were emblematic of his character, laying the foundation for a life devoted to service in various capacities. In 1976, Mike made Pennsville, NJ his home, where he embarked on a fulfilling career at DuPont Chambers Works, leaving an indelible mark with his dedication and work ethic. His passion for his craft led him to pursue a career as an instrument and control technician at Hope Creek Generating Station, where he served diligently until his retirement in 2011. However, beyond his professional accomplishments, Mike's true joy and fulfillment came from being a devoted family man. He was the epitome of a loving husband, father, and pop-pop, whose purposeful support and encouragement knew no bounds. Mike's love extended far beyond his immediate family, as he embraced all who crossed his path with warmth and kindness, earning him a special place in the hearts of many. A fixture at Pennsville Little League, Mike spent countless hours coaching his three daughters, instilling in them values of teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship. Later in life, his joy came from cheering on his seven grandchildren, Zachary, Caitlin, Lindsay, Anthony, Caroline, Cassidy, and Shane, in all their endeavors. Whether on the sidelines of a game or embarking on adventures with his beloved wife, Debra, Mike's presence radiated love, support, and a determined sense of pride. Mike's zest for life extended beyond his family commitments, as he found solace and joy while camping and cruising with family and friends. An avid fan of all Philadelphia sports teams and NASCAR enthusiast, Mike's passion for the game and thrill of competition was contagious, bringing joy to all those around him. Preceded in death by his parents, James and Violet (Lanza), and his brother, James (Jim) Rowe, Mike leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will forever live on in the hearts of his beloved wife of 52 years, Debra (Capozello), his adoring daughters Jennifer Zullo, Julie (Bob) Pope, and Betsy Peachey, and his cherished grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Sandra (Tim) Tait, numerous nieces, nephews, and a community of friends whose lives were touched by his kindness and generosity. A celebration of Mike's remarkable life will be held at the Pennsville VFW on February 18th, 2024, from 1-3 pm, where family, friends, and community members will gather to honor and remember the extraordinary man who touched so many lives with his love, laughter, and amazing spirit. Though he may no longer walk beside us, his legacy of love and kindness will forever remain etched in our hearts, guiding us through the days ahead with cherished memories and profound gratitude for having known such a remarkable soul. Rest in peace, dear Michael, your memory will forever be a beacon of light in our lives. www.laughreyfuneralhome.com
