Mattie Meadows age 90 passed on February 1, 2024 after a brief illness. Mattie was a beloved Aunt to many nieces and nephews and friend to many.

Mattie is survived by her sister Helen Grant, sister in law Doris Meadows and brother in law William Hiles. Mattie is additionally survived by her beloved clan of nieces and nephews, Charles Meadows, Carolyn Gentry, Mildred Miller, Melody Daily, Mike Meadows, Andy Meadows, Kathy Zeller, Elizabeth Minnick, Valerie Kloepping, Gunny Meadows, Chris Meadows, Brad Meadows, Dirk Grant, Millard Grant and Matt Hiles. She is also survived by life long friend Marie Wiley .

Mattie was predeceased by parents Millard and Hester Meadows, brothers William Meadows, J.D. Meadows, Jim Meadows, sister Thelma Hiles, nephews Jeff Hiles, Kirby Grant and great niece Misty Meadows Rude.

Mattie was a lifelong animal lover and had rescued many pets over her almost 91 years. Her last three beloved pets were Andy, Teddy and Tom Cat.

Mattie enjoyed a long career at Anchor Glass in Salem N.J. after graduating high school in 1951. Mattie retired early to care for her parents until their passing.

In lieu of flowers Mattie would have preferred a donation be made in her name to Pennsville Animal Shelter.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM on Thursday February 8th at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville, NJ where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Lawnside Cemetery, Woodstown, NJ.
