It's with heavy hearts to announce the passing of Roy Leon Sutton Jr. a devoted husband, father, grandfather great grandfather and just recently Great Great Grandfather.
Roy was born in Philadelphia, PA on November 13, 1935 to Roy Sutton Sr. and Margaret Noble (Melvin) of Pennsville, NJ.
He was a Salem High School graduate the class of 1955. He served in the U. S. Army. Roy and his brother Robert Started a business together Sutton Brothers.
Later joined Local 542 of Salem for 40 years. His greatest joy was being with his family. He enjoyed, hunting, sailing and skiing. He loved going to Ocean City NJ and Lancaster PA. His favorite time was Christmas decorating and hosting dinner and eating his famous crabcakes and egg nog.
He is survived by beloved wife Martha May Sutton (Rader) of 62 years of marriage. Sister Peggy Haskey of Pennsville. His children Vicki (Randy) Taylor, Diana Sutton and Roy Sutton. 7 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great grand daughter.
Survived by neices and a nephew. He was preceded by his parents and his in laws Charles and Georgeann Rader. Brother Robert E. Sutton.
Mass of Christian burial will be held 11:00 AM on Friday January 26th at the St. Marys Roman Catholic Church, 25 Oak St., Salem, NJ. Friends may call 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville prior to the Mass. Burial will follow at the Lawnside Cemetery, Woodstown, NJ.
