Dorothy "Dot" Horn passed away early Thursday morning, December 28. She was born July 11, 1926 in Meredithville, Virginia.
Dot and her parents moved up to Pennsville from Virginia in 1941.
She graduated from Penns Grove Regional High School in 1942.
Right after graduation, Dot went to work at DuPont Chambers works where she worked as a Laboratory Technician for 49 years.
While there at DuPont she met her husband, Lee Horn. They married in 1957 and were together for 59 years.
Dot was a trendsetter, a woman ahead of her time starting in her 20's and all through her life. She loved antiquing, ballroom dancing at some of the great dance halls on the east coast, theater and travel, whether on a road trip, air travel or on a cruise ship.
She was also a faithful lifelong member in her church, Union Presbyterian in Carney's Point.
Dot was also an active volunteer Docent at the Pennsville Township Historical Society.
AND…she was the biggest sports enthusiast of the Horn / Moriarty / Crane family. She LOVED her Phillies and the E-A-G-L-E-S!!!
Dot had a very generous spirit and expressed that by donating her time and money to her church, the Historical Society and numerous charities.
Dot was predeceased by her husband, Leon "Lee" Horn in October 2016.
She is survived by her daughter and husband, Pam and John Moriarty; her son and his partner, Rick Horn and Rik Ludel; her niece, Pat Crane,
her 4 grandchildren: Janelle (and Phil), Patrick (and Deirdre), Alyssa (and Sean), Bryan (and Samantha) and 5 beautiful great grandchildren, all of whom brought her much joy and happiness.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM on Friday January 5th at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville, NJ where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro, NJ
