Florence May Smith (nee Ward) went home to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Sat. Oct 29, 2011, at the age of 87. She died peacefully in her sleep at home with her family present. Florence was born in Philadelphia, Pa., Dec. 29, 1923, to Winslow and Edith Ward. She was the youngest of eight children. In addition to her parents and siblings, Ms. Smith was predeceased by husbands Henry Moock, Joe McMackin, Ike Henry and Carl Smith. She spent most of her life loving and caring for her family and others. After receiving Jesus as her Lord and Saviour she became a member of Pennsville Assembly of God; and then was a long-time member of Christian Life Center. Florence is survived by her children Robert McMackin (Monica) of Zephyrhills, Fla., William H. McMackin (Karen Joy) of Carneys Point, Carol Mendoza of Penns Grove; stepchildren Nancy Thompson of Harrisburg, Pa., and Joan Vigneulle (William) of Wilmington, Del.; seven grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. Services were held Tuesday Nov. 1, at Laughrey Funeral Home in Pennsville. Interment was at Gracelawn Cemetary in Wilmington, Del.
