Frances A. Wood, age 91 of Pennsville died Tuesday October 10, 2023 at the Southgate Nursing home in Carneys Point, NJ. She was born in Mannington Township, NJ and was the daughter of the late Daniel P. Githens and Hester Amwake Githens. Frances was a lifelong Pennsville resident. Frances had a career in banking that spanned over 40 years, including Farmer's Bank, Mellon Bank, and Wachovia Bank. She was a lifelong member of Haines Neck United Methodist Church where she served faithfully for over 60 years. She loved gardening, reading, and the seashore. Survived by her son, Harold Bruce "Pete" Wood and his wife Beverly of Pennsville and her daughter, Ginger Wood Borcky and her husband Ricci of Chapin, South Carolina, along with six grandchildren, Ryan Wood and his wife Karen, Kenneth Wood and his wife Samantha, Zachary Nolan and his wife Samantha, Paige Hurlburt and her husband Nolan, Kaitlyn McCaw and her husband Oscar and Alyssa Borcky, as well as 10 great grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Harold B "Woody" Wood (November 7, 2019) and her brothers, Daniel P. Githens, Jr. and Thomas Githens. Graveside services will be held 10:00 AM on Friday October 13th at the Lawnside Cemetery, Woodstown, NJ. www.laughreyfuneralhome.com
