Obituary of Christopher Ransdorf Ericson

Please share a memory of Christopher to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Christopher Ransdorf Ericson, 49, went to be with his Lord and entered eternal rest on Friday, August 4, 2023. Born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania to Paul and Barbara Ericson, Chris grew up in Pennsville, NJ and graduated from Pennsville Memorial High School. He graduated from Delaware Technical Community College with a degree in Construction Management which led to a full-filling career in both residential and commercial construction, and as a business owner. Chris worked as a superintendent for Pulte Homes for several years and during this time, he started C.R.E. Home Improvements. He enjoyed his work and found building relationships with homeowners most rewarding. After several years in residential construction, Chris's passion for surfing and the outdoors led him to Huntington Beach, California where he worked as a project manager for Honeywell International Inc. in building technologies. Chris was preceded in death by his Father, Paul F. Ericson, of Pennsville, NJ. He is survived by his Mother, Barbara Randsorf Ericson, two sisters, Samantha Ericson Turner (Jason) of South Carolina, Danielle Ericson Hitzel (Lewis) of Iowa; his four nieces, Mollie and Sarah Turner of South Carolina; Addison and McKenzie Hitzel of Iowa; his loving companion Archana "Gigi" Bhandari; and beloved fur baby Harley. An outdoor enthusiast, Chris enjoyed spending time fly fishing, camping, skiing, biking, hiking, skateboarding and surfing. As a young boy, he treasured the time he spent fly fishing and camping with his dad in the mountains of North Central Pennsylvania, and family ski weekends in the Poconos of Pennsylvania and beyond. He loved spending time in Renovo, Pennsylvania with his grandparents, Jennings and Margaret Ransdorf. Chris adored his Pap-Pap and it was not unusual to see him tagging along with him during the work day, sharing their love for hobby train sets, or picking up Uncle Pete for an afternoon of shenanigans and mischief. As he got older, he pursued his dreams of visiting places far and away. Chris visited Alaska often, and was fortunate to experience not only the wilderness, but its' people. On one visit, an elder from the Inupiat village bestowed him with a native name, "Kayuqtuk," for his quick response and efficient manner to help "shore up" the fishing boat on behalf of some elders who had just returned to shore from a long day of salmon fishing, one of the highest honors for an outsider to receive. His adventurous spirit led him to a hobby in photography in which he captured the beauty of places he visited like New Zealand, Germany and India. He enjoyed sharing his pictures and experiences with family and friends. Mostly, Chris loved his family and spending time with his nieces during the holidays and summer visits over the years. The family of Chris wishes to thank and praise the kindness and support received from friends and neighbors, and the work of the Pennsville Police Department during their time of need. Chris, everyone you left behind in this world is deeply saddened you are gone. Your sudden passing has left our hearts shattered and we will spend the rest of our lives cherishing our memories and love for you. We will remember the love, loyalty and kindness we received from you and that you gave to others. Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday August 12th at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville, NJ where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service. Burial of cremains will be held at a later date.
