Anne (Nancy) Knorr
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nancy Knorr, a talented musician, dedicated teacher, and loving mother on July 20, 2023
Nancy was born on December 26, 1935, raised in West Chester, Pennsylvania and earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees in music education from Penn State. She devoted her career to sharing her love of music with others, teaching choral and instrumental music for over 30 years in the Pennsville Public School District. She was a skilled performer in her own right. For a decade, she sang with Singing City Choir of Philadelphia, traveling to Egypt to perform Beethoven's 9th Symphony at the foot of the pyramids under the direction of Zubin Mehta. Nancy was also a church organist for 50 years, using her talents to uplift and inspire others through her music.
In addition to her professional pursuits, Nancy was a devoted wife to the deceased Charles Knorr and a loving mother to Marcia Knorr and Lisa Knorr Nauful. She cherished her son-in-law, George Nauful, and wholeheartedly embraced the role of grandmother to Tia McLaughlin (Matt). She is also survived by her nieces Susan Dyke, Elizabeth Rimpfel, and Margaret Limberger. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Nancy's passion for music and her dedication to sharing it with others will not be forgotten. She leaves behind a rich legacy as a compassionate and gifted soul. A private family graveside service will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church in Salem, NJ.
To honor her memory publicly, a special organ concert will be organized in Pennsville in early 2024. Further information about the event will be disclosed at a later time. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Nancy's name.
