Lillian C. Klieforth, 93, of Pennsville, NJ, widow of Thomas W. Klieforth (d.1981) passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 7, 2023. She is survived by her 4 daughters: Catherine Dailey and husband Mark, Jacalyn Trout and partner Raymond Litka, Carol Fox and husband Gary (d.2015), Joan Tauss and husband James. Lillian adored her 7 grandchildren: Steven (and Jeanette) Trout, Richard Trout, Brian Trout (d.2005), Laura (and Thomas) Miley, Jennifer (and Paul) Huff, Matthew (and Kristin) Dailey, Andrew Tauss; and her 8 Great grandchildren: Alyssa, Terra, Julia, Robert, Leila, Ivie, Grace, Skylar and nieces and nephews. Lillian is also survived by many extended family and friends. With her best friend Mary Ottinger, they would often travel around the country. A simple car ride, not always knowing the destinations, would consistently provide the best stories. Born in Carneys Point, NJ on May 20, 1930, to Catherine G. and James C. Commerford, Lillian grew up with her 2 brothers, John "Jack" and James "Jim" Commerford. She attended Saint James High School and graduated in 1947. Furthering her education, she attended Saint Francis Hospital School of Nursing in Wilmington, DE, where she graduated in 1950 with a Registered Nursing (RN) degree. She followed her passion to Underwood Hospital where she worked as a nurse in Labor and Delivery. She married Thomas W. Klieforth May 3, 1952 but continued working in nursing at Salem County Hospital NJ as a general and private duty nurse. After the birth of her children, Lillian became a stay-at-home Mother. In addition to raising her daughters, many of her other pleasures included gardening, decorating her house, and hosting gatherings by her pool. She was a very active participant in the PEPAA Club for Pennsville Memorial High School. She also enjoyed time boating and fishing. Her greatest love was simply enjoying visits from friends and extended family. She considered time spent together the most precious. Visitation will be held at Laughrey Funeral Home in Pennsville, NJ on Monday June 12, 2023 from 10am to 11am with a service from 11am to 12n. Immediately following a luncheon will be held at 12N at the VFW. www.laughreyfuneralhome.com
