Elizabeth Rogers (nee Alloway) "Libby" 1946 – 2023 On Wednesday, May 24, 2023, Elizabeth R. "Libby" Rogers, a beloved mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away peacefully in her home. She is survived by her daughters Michelle (wife Traci) of Swarthmore, PA, Candy (husband Jerry) of Bloomfield, VT, and adopted son Robert of Bear, DE. Grandchildren Amanda, Tiffany, Dorianne, Andrew, Chrissy, and Chelsea, who she adored. Her sisters Susette (husband Mike) of Pennsville, NJ, and Cindi (Brick) of Pedricktown, NJ, and brothers Buddy (wife Linda) of Pedericktown, NJ, and Mike (wife MaryAnn) of Titusville, FL. She had eight great-grandchildren and two stepdaughters, Betty (husband Seyhan) of Swedesboro, NJ, and Brenda (husband Mike) of Pennsville, NJ. She is predeceased by her partner Bonnie Reeder who she shared a life and a love for thirty years and has missed every day since her passing in 2016. They enjoyed the mountains of Pennsylvania, their rose garden, their home, and spending time and holidays with their family. Libby was an avid sports fan; not an Eagles Sunday would go by where she wasn't glued to the TV as she rooted for her favorite team. She loved to spend summer evenings watching the Phillies and, of course, was a Sixers fan. She even enjoyed watching WNBA basketball. In 1961 when she was just fourteen years old became a fan of the show General Hospital and has not missed an episode. She even passed on her love for the ongoing saga of the famous Soap Opera to her daughters. Her other favorite things were the Pixar Creation Minions—every type of superhero movie and Star Wars. Her favorite pastimes were shopping at the Acme with her daughter and Friday game nights with her sisters. She often talked about how she enjoyed those moments of laughter, reminiscing, and sharing some good food, especially cheeseburgers. She graduated from Penns Grove High School in 1964, participating in the Drama, Retrospect, and Public Speaking clubs. Then when she was ready to take her career in another direction, she graduated in 1986 with Honors from Salem Community College with an Associate's degree in Computer Programming. She went on from there to work in the Computer programming industry at Bechtel, PSE&G, and BE&K where she retired in 2005. Libby was friendly, always ready to talk with anyone she passed along the way, whether it be at the pharmacy, in an elevator, or just passing someone on the sidewalk. She was giving of her time and her love, and always enjoyed time with her family. Libby had a sense of humor, laughed easily, and loved with every bit of her heart. She will be greatly missed by all who love her. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM on Wednesday May 31st at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville, NJ where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service. Burial will be private.
