Obituary of Betty J. Bryce

Please share a memory of Betty to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Betty Jane Bryce (Catts) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at the age of 88 years after a long months' battle with Multiple Myeloma. Betty was born in Wilmington, Delaware and graduated from Wilmington High School where she loved to go to dances and be with her friends. She worked for a time as a Billing Clerk for the Allied Kid Company in Wilmington, DE. Betty married in 1955 and moved to Camp LeJeune, NC. She later lived in Northfield, NJ, then Absecon, NJ before eventually moving to Pennsville, NJ and making it her life-long home. Betty was a homemaker for much of her life and prided herself at being a good, loving parent. She wanted her children and grandchildren to always know that she loved them without a doubt; no matter what. Betty is survived by her children David Bryce of Elkton, MD, and Susan Bryce Whiteside (Nick) of Midlothian, VA, as well as her grandchildren, Jennifer Whiteside of Henrico, VA, Stephanie Whiteside Harrison (Sean) of Durham, NC, Nicholas R. Whiteside of Midlothian, VA, Jacob Brown of Charlotte, NC, and Emily Brown of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by her Great-Grandson, Henry James Harrison of Durham, NC. Betty was predeceased by son, Alexander G. Bryce, III and her twin sister, MaryAnn Broadway, as well as her parents Harry and Elizabeth Catts. Betty is also survived by several nieces and nephews, especially her twin sister's daughter and her family, Dana Broadway of Newark, DE. Family and friends are invited to a Visitation to honor Betty on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, from 7PM -9 PM at Laughrey Funeral Home, 1 N. Broadway, Pennsville, NJ 08070. A funeral service will follow on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at 11AM at the Laughrey Funeral Home with burial at Lawnside Cemetery in Woodstown, NJ immediately following the service. The Bryce family would like to say a very special thank you to Southgate Healthcare Center and in particular the staff of the 200 Unit for their very loving care of Betty. We could not have asked for a more loving and compassionate group of people to care for Betty during the time that she was there. A special thank you to April, Amber, Stephanie, Rebecca and Hannah, but there are far too many to name them all. Thank you all so very, very much. We would also like to thank Enoble Hospice for the care that they provided Betty in her final days as well. Memories and Condolences may be shared at the Laughrey Funeral Home website: https://laughreyfuneralhome.com.
