Thomas A. Githens, of Pennsville, NJ passed away Thursday May 4, 2023. He was the son of Daniel and Hester Amwake Githens.

Born in Mannington Township on June 9, 1933, Tom grew up on his family's farm in southern Pennsville Township, an area he often referred to as Pigs Eye. He later worked at DuPont Chambers Works in Deepwater and retired in 1992 with 30 years service.

Tom was an avid woodworker, building items including purple martin birdhouses, wagons, and a replica stagecoach. He helped construct the gazebo on the museum grounds of the Pennsville Historical Society where he was a long time member.

Tom was predeceased by his wife Miriam (Crosier). He is survived by a sister, Frances Wood, daughters Wendy and Susan, sons Thomas and Glen, and granddaughter Vincenza.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
