Obituary of Diane C. Strader
Please share a memory of Diane to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Diane Colleen Finlaw Strader, 76, of Pennsville, NJ went home to Jesus on March 27th, 2023 at her home in Pennsville, surrounded by family.
Diane was born in Salem Hospital to Freeman (Bill) and Mary Finlaw on March 8, 1947 and grew up in Pennsville, NJ. As a child she loved riding the ferry over to Old New Castle to visit her family. She attended Saint James High School in Carneys Point, NJ, and graduated in 1965.
Diane married her husband Tom on September 6th, 1969 and were married 36 years until his passing in 2005. She devoted her life to family and faith, teaching those values to her children. She was an active member of Queen of the Apostles Catholic church until it's closing, and was a youth group leader at Saint Mary's Church for many years. She truly loved being involved in all six of her kids' activities and she carried that support over to her grandchildren by attending their events in New Jersey, Delaware, and West Virginia.
She was a homemaker for her six children and once they were grown, she went on to work at Head Start Learning Center. She loved spending time with her family, dancing and singing any chance she could. If she wasn't spending time with her children, she was with her sister or catching up with her lifelong childhood friends. She and her sister have always been the best of friends and loved going to the movies together, church dances, or anything else as long as they were together and laughing. She spent her summers in her pool, going to the beach with family, and traveling on family vacations to various parts of the country.
Diane is survived by her children Thomas W. Strader Jr. of Pennsville, Christopher P. Strader of Pennsville, Diana L. Williams (Deron) of Wilmington, DE, Shawn R. Strader of Pennsville, Colleen R. Knight (Jonathan) of Morgantown, WV; grandchildren: Michael J. Strader Jr, Caitlin M. Strader, Kyrstin R. Wolfer, Emily C. Strader, Kiley M. Williams, Tanner M. Williams, Chance A. Williams, Keegan G. Knight, & Kinslee R. Knight; siblings Edward L. Finlaw Sr, Mary R. Heverin (Francis), Joseph F. Finlaw (Lora) and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Thomas W. Strader, Sr., son Michael J. Strader Sr, and parents Freeman (Bill) & Mary R (Ryan) Finlaw.
