Karen E. (Castle) Short, age 71 of Pennsville NJ passed away suddenly on Saturday March 11, 2023 at the Christiana Hospital, Newark, DE. She was born in Martin, KY and was the daughter of the late Donald L. Castle, Sr. and Goldie M. Sexton Castle. Karen was a longtime Pennsville, resident. Karen was one of 11 children. She was a devoted grandmother who loved travel and camping. An active member of the Pennsville VFW Auxiliary, who was always looking to spend time with friends and family. Karen is survived by her husband of 49 years Gary T. Short. Her son Gary J. Short, wife Jessica. Her daughter Donya M. Mott, husband Steven. Her grandchildren Thomas Short, Tyler McDonald, and Kali-Lynn Mott. Her brothers Donald Castle, wife Freda; David Castle; Charlie Castle, wife Freda; and Jack Castle. Along with many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers, Wade Castle, Thomas Castle, Perry "Bennie" Castle, Richard Castle, Larry Castle, and a sister, Annette Kidd (Castle). A celebration of life will be held Monday March 20th from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the Pennsville VFW, 171 South Broadway, Pennsville, NJ. Burial will be private.
