Obituary of Vendal R. Stell

Vendal R. Stell, 40, passed away Monday, October 10. Vendal was born December 6, 1970 in Mannington Township, NJ to Albert (Bing) and Florence Stell. He was raised in Pennsville where he graduated from Pennsville Memorial High School in 1988. Upon graduation, Vendal enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served four years as a Lance Corporal. During his service, he spent two years stationed in Okinawa, Japan. Once out of the service, he was employed with Mobile Dredging and Pumping in Chester, PA for 18 years, most of that time as the Service Manager. Vendal married his loving wife of 12 years Darla in 1999. Vendal enjoyed anything and everything with a motor; from classic cars to jet skis, hot rods to snowmobiles. If you stopped by their home, you would often find him in the garage tinkering with one of his new toys. He also appreciated his time fishing with his friends and sons Jacob and Joey (Fish on!!) and family vacations to Cape May and Florida. He spent many evenings in the backyard where friends, family and neighbors were drawn to his bonfires as much they were to his infectious laughter and fun, outgoing personality. Vendal is survived by his wife Darla and his sons Jacob, 10 and Joey, 6. He is also survived by his father and mother Bing and Florence Stell of Pennsville; his sister Connie Beals and husband Pat Beals of Pennsville; brother Albert Stell, wife Tammy Stell and niece Lindsey Slimmer currently of Salem. A celebration of Vendal's life will take place Saturday, October 22 at The Washington Club, 72 North Virginia Ave. Penns Grove, NJ. The family will be receiving condolences from 11 to 12, followed by a small service then lunch.
