Obituary of John H. Acton

Jack H. Acton, Age 83 of Pennsville passed away on Friday June 24, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his loving wife Dottie of 54 years in 2013. He was born in Berlin, MD and was the son of Eldon and Hilda and a lifelong Salem County Resident.
He is survived by sons, John (Julie), Greg (Maryann) of Pennsville and sister Jill (Joseph) Elwell of Quinton, grandchildren, Jonathan (Nina), Justin, Emily, & Jacob, and great grandchildren, Leland, Sailor, Sloane, & Warren, as well as his loving friend and companion Jeanette Walls.
Jack retired from DuPont Chambers Works after 40yrs of service and enjoyed building custom fishing rods and lures. He made many memories during his summers in Cape May, fishing in the Delaware Bay and offshore for marlin, and his winters deer hunting on his farm with John, Greg, and his closest friends. In his later years he could be seen cruising around town in his black Corvette. He loved spending time with his family and his buddies who came each morning for "coffee club." He was a lifetime member of the Pennsville Fire Department and Free Masons.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday June 28th from 5:00 to 7:00 at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville.
In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to the Pennsville Fire and Rescue Company or the Pennsville Visiting Nurses Association
