Obituary of Violet Mae Tumey

Violet Mae Tumey, age 91 of Pennsville, NJ went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday May 12, 2022, at the Salem Medical Center, Mannington Township, NJ. She was born in Salem, NJ to the late Joseph L. Moriarty and Helen Younger Moriarty. Violet was a longtime Salem County resident. She went to Salem High School to 11th grade. Her first job was paper hanging with her dad, then several years at Anchor Hocking Glass in Salem also worked at Ryans Grocery Store, in Salem, the Salem County Memorial Hospital snack shop, at Centerton Lake and in Myrtle Beach, SC She enjoyed the many years she was actively involved in different Assembly of God Churches by driving the church van to pick up youth, also many, many years being a nursey teacher. Violet and her late husband Albert enjoyed 6 months every year for about 21 years at their home in Myrtle Beach, SC. Violet is survived by her two daughters, Sharon Atkinson of Pennsville and Kathy Bradford of Salem, grandchildren, Mark Atkinson of Newark, DE Dawn Till (Moe) of Pennsville, Jarred McCart (Amanda) of Carneys Point and Kelly Mosley of Salem, NJ, great grandchildren, Colin, Alexis, Morris, Marissa and Connor all of Pennsville. Predeceased by her parents, her three sisters, her beloved husband, Albert Tumey (2008), and a daughter Beverly Tumey (2021). Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM on Wednesday May 18th at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville, NJ where friends may call Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM.
