Obituary of Betty E. Walker

Betty E. Walker age 94, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 14, 2022 at Friends Village, Woodstown, NJ where she was living for the last seven years. Betty was born on April 5, 1928 in Harrisburg, PA to Robert H. Castiglione and Ruth V. (Bragg) Castiglione. She attended Woodstown High School. Betty moved to Pennsville, NJ in 1960 where she lived with her husband Alfonso V. Walker until his death in 2007. Betty was a housewife most of her life, but worked at Anchor Glass in Salem, NJ and also worked part time as a waitress at the G&L Diner and for Baker Shoes in the Ames Department store in Pennsville. Betty faithfully attended Park Bible Baptist Church in Pennsville for many years. She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years Alfonso "Jack", "Al", Walker. She is survived by her five children and their spouses, daughter Carol Fowser Weiser (Barry) of Pilesgrove, NJ, son Kenneth R. Fowser of Naples, FL, son Jay M. Walker (Deborah) of Middletown, DE, stepson Ward A. Walker (Leslie) of Marlton, NJ, and stepdaughter Bonnie Walker Furst of Albuquerque, NM. She is also survived by her ten grandchildren and their spouses Sean B. Weiser (Carla), Aaron C. Weiser, Kenneth Ryan Fowser, Amanda Walker Glezman (Pat), Jessica Walker Brown (Josh), Emily Walker Thomson, Dana Walker Delano (George), Ashley Walker, Brandon Furst (Christina) and Logan Furst (Delilah). She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff of Friends Village for caring for Betty during her seven years as a resident. They also want to thank Ennoble Care for their excellent hospice care over the last three months of Betty's life. Services will be held Thursday, April 21, 2022 at 11:00am at Laughrey Funeral Home at 1 North Broadway in Pennsville, NJ, where friends may call from 10:00am to 11:00am prior to the service at 11:00am. Burial will be at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle DE following the service. Memorial donations may be sent to the Ladies Missionary Society of Park Bible Baptist Church, 95 Sparks Avenue, Pennsville, NJ 08070, or the charity of your choice.
