Norman M. Fox "Bubby", age 82, of New Castle, Delaware passed away at his home on Friday, August 26, 2011 surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with heart disease. Norman was born in Millville, New Jersey on July 30, 1929. He served in the Navy from 1946 to 1950. After the Navy he worked for DuPont Chambers Works for 35 years. Upon retiring from DuPont he spent his winters in Naples, Florida where he met many wonderful friends. He was an avid horse racing fan of Delaware Park. Norman was a truly devoted husband, father, pop-pop and friend. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Doris J. Fox; daughters, Norma Gannon and husband Chris of Bear, Delaware and Kathy McCaffery and husband Pat of Pennsville; grandchildren, Christine Laughrey and husband Rob, Patrick McCaffery, Jr. of Pennsville, Christopher and Lauren Gannon of Bear, Delaware; great-grandchildren John Patrick Laughrey "JP" and Baileah Zydanowicz. He is also survived by his sisters, Gladys Buriak of Williamstown, Janice Bonarrigo of Carneys Point and Sandra Crumley of South Carolina. The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to Seasons Hospice of Delaware for their excellent care during this difficult time. A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Laughrey Funeral Home, One North Broadway, Pennsville, New Jersey on Wednesday, August 31 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM followed by a service at 11:00AM. Burial will follow at the Salem County Veterans Cemetery.
