Obituary of Jean L. Walls

Please share a memory of Jean to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
""A woman who fears the Lord is to be praised." Proverbs 31:30 Jean Louise Walls, a wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and lifelong faithful child of God, passed away shortly before midnight on Wednesday, September the 8th. By faith Jeanie impressed everyone around her—right to the end—with her strength and devotion. In any instance she would turn to God and His scriptures, both to praise and for guidance. By faith Jeanie faced all obstacles that appeared in her life, battling past numerous challenges with courage and resilience. Once in her 40s, after a serious injury that immobilized her, she refused to accept the predicted limitations and battled back to full recovery. By faith Jeanie married Alvery Walls on July 14, 1984, becoming a devoted wife with a passionate focus on her family; a source of joy throughout her life. Over 37 years in partnership, she exemplified a Godly wife, overseeing her household, and caring for her husband and children. By faith Jeanie raised three children: Alvery Jr., Andrew, and Katie, loving them and devoting herself to family, which later came to include four grandchildren: Callan, Aubrey, Parker, and Andrew. She was the mom at the sporting event—or even the one playing the sport with you—and at the amusement park not just encouraging you to ride the ride, but to ride it with her. By faith Jeanie found great joy in the church, loving bible study, singing in the choir, and leading the church woman's group. At many events she had a hand in everything from the planning, the decorating, the cooking, the serving, the teaching, and even the cleanup; often with the first to arrive and the last to leave. By faith Jeanie was fiercely loyal and a champion to all she loved. Often, she would be a prayer warrior, staying up all night praying for hours for someone in need, even for a stranger, without hesitation. By faith Jeanie was an intense protector of others, watching over them and quick with a helping hand. She once encouraged a dangerous dog to chase her in order to lure it away from her sister, and ended up getting bitten in this selfless sacrifice. By faith Jeanie found pleasure in the big and small things that God granted her in life. From a hot cup of tea, crocheting, or hours with a good book, to long road trips or spontaneous adventures, she found joy all around her. By faith, Jeanie entered heaven to be with her Savior after a courageously fought six-week battle. The courage and strength she showed throughout her battle, was a light and inspiration to all around her. Throughout her whole life in all she did and who she was, Jeanie truly earned the words she heard entering heaven, "Well done, My good and faithful servant … enter into the joy of your Lord." Jean Louise Walls is survived by her parents, Robert & Betty Jordan; her sisters, Susan Myers and Bobbie-Ann Fordham; mother-in-law, Edith Walls; daughters-in-law, Blair Walls and Cara Walls; and the family members mentioned above. Services will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, September 14, at Lawnside Cemetery (896 NJ-45, Woodstown, NJ). All are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers please prayerfully consider a donation to the family to offset funeral costs. www.laughreyfunerahome.com
