Linda D. Hope, age 65 of Newark, DE, passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at the Sunrise of Westtown Assisted Living Facility, West Chester, PA. She was born in Wilmington, and was the daughter of the late Wilbur Weed and Margaret Walker Kelly. Linda graduated from Christiana HS in 1974, and worked briefly as a radio technician for the Ronson Corporation. She was also a member, and EMT, for Christiana Fire Company, while living in Delaware. She moved to Pennsville with her family in 1988, and lived there until 2019. Linda actively volunteered for many positions in her children's schools, including being president of the Penn Beach Elementary PTA. She would also help out her late husband, Brian, during the busy holiday season, when he played Santa – including making his Santa suits! Survived by her children, Brian J. Hope of Springfield, MO, Michael J. Hope of Newark, DE, Christopher J. Hope, wife Katie Hope, and their daughters Ainsley, Maggie, and Christina of Easton, PA. She is also survived by her sisters Nancy Weed and Karen Pfaff, both of Wilmington, DE. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her brother, Harvey New. Funeral services will be private for family. Friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 am on Monday, August 9, at Laughery Funeral Home, Pennsville. Burial will be at the East View Cemetery, Salem, where she'll be laid to rest next to her husband of 40 years. www.laugheryfuneralhome.com
