Charlene J. "Beanie" McAllister, age 61 of Pennsville passed away peacefully Sunday August 21, 2011 at her residence with her loving family surrounding her. She was born in Salem and was the daughter of the late Charles E. Sr. and Katherine D. Wood Owens. Beanie was a lifelong Pennsville resident. She was employed as a clerical aid for the Pennsville Board of Education where she retired in 2008 following 27 years service. She loved the Jersey Shore especially her vacation home at Cape May and loved old movies. Survived by her husband David J. "DJ" McAllister, children, Robert Raymond Townsend, Brittany Dawn Green (Jeffrey), Katherine Doris Townsend, and David John McAllister, Jr., Grandchildren, Shawn Rain, Austin Green, Kallie Green, Chase Mathis, Bryson Townsend, Owen Townsend, Earl Small, David McAllister, 3rd, and Joshua McAllister, Brothers, Merlin "Bunky" Owens and Charles E. Owens, sisters, Katherine Lee Peterson and Joanne Lynn Owens, and her dog Zoe Predeceased by a brother Rodney E. Owens (2005). Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday August 25, at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville where friends may call Wednesday evening 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
