Obituary of Eileen M. Mahoney

Eileen M. Mahoney 1933 – 2021 In early Spring, on May 3, 2021, Eileen Mahoney (nee McMackin), age 87, passed away peacefully after a brief illness surrounded by her loving family. Eileen is the widow of her late husband of 60 years, James E. Mahoney, who died in 2016. She was born in Deepwater and was the daughter of the late James and Mary (Walsh) McMackin. Predeceased by four brothers, James, Robert, Joseph and John and three sisters, Marie Durham, Margaret Smith, and Elizabeth Marchlewicz. Survived by her children, Theresa Dempsey (David) of Newark, DE, Carol Smith (Richard), Thomas Mahoney (Tamara) and Kathleen Starcevich (John) of Pennsville and a brother, Rev. Thomas McMackin of Port Orange, FL. Proud grandmother of Tara Puitz (Theodore), James Dempsey (Erica), Dr. Lauren Payne (Steven), Colleen Elder (Carl), Matthew Mahoney, John Starcevich, Beka Seward, Jeffrey Starcevich, Taylor Smith (Molly) Joseph Starcevich, and great-grandmother to 11 little blessings. She will also be missed by many extended family members, friends, and associates. Eileen was the broker/owner of Mahoney Realty in Pennsville. A dedicated businesswoman who started her real estate career in the 70's and helped others pursue the American dream of owning their own home. Eileen enjoyed gardening, her flowers, and gatherings with family and friends for relaxing sunset evenings. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing Friday evening, May 7, 2021, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Laughrey Funeral Home, One North Broadway, Pennsville. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, May 8, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Gabriel the Archangel Corpus Christi Church, 369 Georgetown Road, Carneys Point, with burial at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Woodstown.
