Walter J. Johnson, age 70 of Pennsville, NJ died Thursday April 29, 2021 at his residence. He was born in Mannington Township, NJ and was the son of the late Arde H. Johnson, Sr. and Virginia Hand Johnson. Walter was a lifelong Pennsville resident and a 1969 graduate of Pennsville Memorial High School. He was employed as a pipe fitter for the DuPont Chambers Works, Deepwater, NJ where he retired in 2000 following 31 years service. He was life member of the Pennsville Fire & Rescue, Station 5. Survived by his wife of 48 years Marjorie L. Whitesell Johnson, children, William E. Johnson and his wife, Noel, Renee L. Johnson, and Richard L. Johnson and his wife Michelle, brother, Donald Johnson and his wife Lois, sister, Elizabeth Hiers and her husband Stephen, and a sister, Patricia Smith and her husband Rick, grandchildren, Kyle W. Johnson, Zachary T. Johnson, Kartina L. Johnson, Tara R. Johnson, great granddaughter, Nevaeh Johnson, and sister in law, Susan Johnson. Predeceased by a brother, Arde H. Johnson, Jr. Graveside services with honors will be held 11::00 AM on Saturday May 15th at the Salem County Veterans Cemetery, Pilesgrove, NJ.
