Gerald L. "Jerry" Friant passed away peacefully at Inspira Hospital on the first of December 2020 in Mullica hill, NJ at the age of 79. Gerald is survived by his wife, Joan (Wolfe) Friant; children, Debbie Atkinson, Sharon Friant, and Evelyn Zarychta; Grandchildren, Aaron Stickley, Michael Zarychta, Jennifer (Jeffries) Browning, John Alan Roe, Marie Zarychta, and Melani Roe; Several nieces and nephews. Gerald is preceded in death by Parents James Friant and Pearl Maurer; Two brothers James Friant and Thomas Friant; Two sisters Emma Ammon Evans and Mary Baevsky. Gerald was born on January 31, 1941 in Salem County to James Friant and Pearl Maurer. Gerald graduated from Pennsville Memorial High School in 1961. He continued to Join the Navy in 1962 and finished his service in 1966. Gerald married Joan C. Wolfe, the love of his life, on January 28th, 1976. Gerald began working for Altas Piont as a Chemical Operator which he retired from in 2005. He then joined the workforce of Kurkland Pharmacy as a delivery driver and then moved on to Acme Savon Pharmacy. Gerald was an immaculate individual who loved playing the lottery and spent his past time with a love for football. He was an active and dedicated member of the American Legion as well as a loyal order of the Moose Club. Gerald will be deeply missed by family and friends, as well as many members in the community. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday December 11th at the Finn's Point National Cemetery, Pennsville, NJ. www.laughreyfuneralhome.com
