Obituary of Tyrus K. Cobb, Sr.

Tyrus K. Cobb Sr., age 87 of Pennsville died Wednesday October 28, 2020 at the Salem Medical Center, Mannington Twp, NJ. He was Born april 29, 1933 to Harry Edgar Baxter Cobb and Beullah Mae Keller Cobb. Tyrus was a lifelong Pennsville resident. Survived by a brother, Norman, 6 children Debra (Wayne) Gray, Judy Degges, Ty Jr., Jerry (Beth), Cheryl "Murt" Widen and Chuck (Terri), grandchildren, Dione(Emily), Christy, Bill (Nicole), Katelynn, Michelle, Sarah (Chris) Jessie and Tori. 3 Great Granchildren Melania, Nicholas, Jake, Bella and Stoffie and several Nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife Claire G. Durham Cobb(Sue) February 12, 2011, Brothers, Henry and Frank, sisters, Anna Mae and Ruth. He served in the US Navy aboard the USS Lake Champlain CVA-39 during Korean Conflict and was awarded the National defense Service Medal With European Clasp, Korean Service Medal (1 star), Korean Presidential Unit Citation, and United Nations Service Medal. A lifetime member of the Pennsville Fire and Rescue No1, Station 5, Pennsville VFW Post 1952. Worked for EI DuPont Chambers Works for 30 years as an electrician, General Motors for 25 years , and part time for Russ Emmons Electric for many years. Ty was avery kind hearted man who was always willing to lend a helping hand in any way that was needed. He loved crabbing fishing, the Eagles, Phillies, Jeopardy and his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
