Obituary of Delores E. Russell

Delores Elsie Russell 80, of Pennsville died peacefully at home on May 15, 2016 with her daughter by her side. Born in Camden, New Jersey, on October 4, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Emma Burroughs. Delores was also known by the name Dee and worked for Marilyn Dress Factory before becoming a homemaker. Last August her world grew dim after loosing the love of her life William (Bill) to brain cancer. They had just celebrated 59 years of marriage when he had passed. Dee was very active with Haines Neck United Methodist Church in Mannington where she was a member of the choir, the Would Bees, and served on many of the boards. Dee is survived by her sisters Shirley A. Connor of Lancaster, PA, and Ethel Adams of Mifflinburg, PA, her daughter Roxanne (Jim) Thomas of Lenior City, TN, her granddaughters Dr. Lauren E. Thomas and fiancé Dustin Hovermale of Martinsburg, WV and Kaitlyn F. Thomas and companion Amanda Cordrey of Dover, DE, her son William (Joann) of Pennsville as well as numerous nieces and nephews and friends. Dee was predeceased by her sisters Elizabeth (Betty) Cherry and Hope V. Hunter. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM on Wednesday May 18, at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service.
