Laura V. Hathaway, age 70 of Pennsville died Sunday January 1, 2011 at her home. She was born in Salem and is the daughter of Mary Vanderslice Widger of Merritt Island, FL and the late George W. Vanderslice. She was employed as a clerk at the Pennsville Post Office. Laura loved to read, needle point and baking, shopping and spending time with her grandchildren. Survived by her husband of 50 years, Ernest W. Hathaway and a daughter Margo.Hathaway Burke and her husband Bernie of Pennsville, two loving grandchildren, Matthew and Kyle Burke of Pennsville, brother, George Vanderslice and his wife Jeannette of Goshen, NJ, sister, Linda Buechler and her husband Dick of Merritt Island, FL. Predeceased by a son, Ernest W. Hathaway, Jr. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
