Miss Katherine Ann Heverin Our dear Godmother, Miss Katherine Ann Heverin, passed away on Friday December 8, 2023, at the age of 89. Katherine was an only child. She was predeceased by her father, Earnest Heverin, and mother, Elizabeth Heverin (Burton). She is survived by her goddaughter Katherine Ann Gralley-Smalley, grand goddaughter Katherine Mey Smalley, and her "sister from another mother" and best friend since childhood, Dolores Page-Gralley. Additional survivors are those who called her "Aunt Katherine," Ken and Debbie Gralley, their children Erin Gralley-Mical, her daughter Emme Jane and Kelly Gralley-Ottinger, George Smalley, Bonnie Smalley-Morgan, Colleen Smalley, Glenn and Tracy Gralley, and their son Michael Gralley. Lastly, she is survived by her large, fuzzy family of teddy bears, each with a special name, memory, and place in her heart. BJ, her traveling teddy bear companion, will continue to travel to the rainbow bridge with her, where she will spend her days with her much loved miniature Schnauzers, Prince Hans, and Mr. Nibs. Her gentle, caring nature impacted many at St. George's Episcopal Church in Pennsville and the YMCA of Delaware. She also had many friends and was a well-loved community member in Pennsville, New Jersey. She was an avid reader, a Phillies and Eagles fan, loved traveling, and knitted blankets, sweaters, and other items for needy people. Visitation will be on December 15, 2023, at 10:00 am, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am at St. George's Episcopal Church, North Broadway, Pennsville, NJ. Immediately after the service, she will take her final journey home to Charlestown, MD, to join her parents in the St. John's United Methodist Church Cemetery, 240 Market Street, Charlestown, MD. Miss Katherine Ann Heverin requested that any contributions be made to the YMCA in Wilmington, Delaware, or a charity of your choice instead of flowers.
