Nicholas Jon Parkinson Amazing friend, beyond loving son, and an unbelievably supportive brother, Nicholas Jon Parkinson, 25, of Pennsville passed away on August 25, 2020. Born in Newark, DE, Nicholas was the son of Jon-Paul and Deneen Parkinson. Nicholas attended Pennsville Memorial High School and graduated in the class of 2013. He graduated from Wilmington University in New Castle, DE, in 2019 with a bachelor's degree in Environmental Science and Policy. At Wilmington University, he was recognized for a multitude of academic accomplishments including the Dean's List, Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, and being the only Environmental Science and Policy major in his class to be inducted into Sigma Zeta which is the National Science and Mathematics Honor Society. He was most recently employed at the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control as an Environmental Scientist / Management Analyst. Nicholas enjoyed the company of his friends and family and took pride in his brand-new truck and boy, could the man eat. You could not leave your plate in front of him, especially chocolate cake. Nicholas's sarcastic humor and laugh were both contagious and he left a lasting impression in even the simplest encounters with everyone he knew. It is without question how much Nicholas loved his family. He was his sister's biggest supporter with every accomplishment in her life, big or small. Nicholas had an indescribable, loving bond with his mother and his father which will leave an ever-lasting impression on their hearts. People who knew Nicholas can tell you all about his kind-heart, his desire to be there for others, and how he could light up any room with his smile. He will truly be missed. Nicholas is survived by his parents, Jon-Paul and Deneen Parkinson, sister Marina, and grandfather Donald Cook Sr. as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins who dearly loved him. His grandmother Emma Cook predeceased him. Services of remembrance for Nicholas will be hosted at Laughrey Funeral Home, 1 N Broadway, Pennsville, NJ, 08070. A viewing will be held Monday, August 31st, 2020 from 4 PM to 6:30 PM followed by a private service for Nicholas's family at 7 PM.
