Betty and Dan and extended family, I am so sorry for your loss and feel the pain. Fortunately, we have the memories created to help us through. And what great memories they are. Everyone should take great joy and pride knowing that Gary gave of himself to others, whether it was through his military service or just the efforts he put forth to make our community a better place to live. And what way to develop a great place to live other than through raising a great family.
Can't remember when I first met Gary, probably through some school event, soccer, swimming, etc--but we got to talking about a common interest we both had-hiking.
So, a group of us decided to head to the White Mountains of NH and summit Mt Washington over the course of several days. I think it was this trip that sealed the friendship of everyone involved-for life. In fact the last time I was with Gary on New Years Eve, he mentioned about doing another hike. Needless to say, Gary's influence on me and this trip has remained with me on every hike I have taken and yet to do.
"PUSH THOSE SQUIDS BACK"-how many times did we hear this while attending/watching the Army vs Navy football game? Obviously, the Army always remained a part of Gary and it was great fun being with him at the games, and I am sure he found great reward in Armies abilities in the last few years.
So to Gary's family and friends, know that this man left his mark on many of hearts and will be greatly missed, but the memories cherished forever.

My heart goes out to his family, and all who knew him. He did always make you laugh with his jokes, his dancing around, and my personal favorite when he walked in with his Cac-tie, a dark tie with cactuses on it. We had a good laugh. He was a caring person too and would check up on you when he knew life was down. He will be missed by all who knew him. I will miss you Cac-tie.

On Christmas Eves Gary played Silent Night with feeling and love at Woodstown Presbyterian Church. Some of these nights he would be outside in the freezing cold for the Live Nativity when his music broke the quiet of the dark. I can still hear it in my heart and I still feel the warmth of his kindness, caring nature and friendship.
