Obituary of Benjamin H. Toulson, Jr.

Benjamin Harvey Toulson, Jr. went home to be with the Lord on August 15, 2018. Ben was born in Salem, NJ on April 21, 1930 to Benjamin Harvey Toulson, Sr. and Susan (nee Dilks) Toulson. He was president of the Class of 1950 at Salem High School. He served in the US Army. An active volunteer fire fighter for many years, he served as Chief of Pennsville Fire & Rescue Co. #1 and as Salem County Fire Marshal. He was also a longtime member of Trinity UM Church in Pennsville. Ben is survived by his wife Shirley (nee Hines) Toulson, children, Deborah Ellison (Griff), Donna Melnick (Randy) and Benjamin H. Toulson, III (Candy) and David Livesay (Patty). He was the proud grandfather of 9 and great grandfather of 5. He is also survived by a sister Betty Ann (nee Dilks) Heaney. Predeceased by his parents and his first wife Faye (nee Luck) Toulson Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM on Tuesday August 21, at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Pennsville. family and friends may call Monday Evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville and again on Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Church prior to the service. Burial with honors will be at the Salem County Veterans Cemetery, Pilesgrove, NJ.
