Obituary of Gloria F. Gant

Gloria F. Gant (née Zeiders) died peacefully surrounded by her family on July 27, 2018 at the age of 86. She was born in Palo Alto, PA and the daughter of the late Norman F. Zeiders and Alma Worrell. Gloria graduated from Penns Grove Regional High School in 1951. She married her high school sweetheart, Ronnie, in 1957. She began her working career at Woolworth 5&10 in Penns Grove. She then started raising her family of 5 daughters. After all the children were in school, she worked at the Penns Grove Regional High School cafeteria for 23 years so that she could balance working and caring for her family. Her children remember her as a gentle and kind mother who encouraged them to pursue their dreams and goals. She was very proud of all their accomplishments.
Gloria is survived by her daughters Sharon Yorlano (Anthony), Michelle Gilseth (Danny), Patricia Gant, Rachel Pompetti (Frank) and Christi Wood (Charlie), sister Roberta VanSyckel (Rich), brothers Norman Zeiders and Earle Zeiders (Daisy), and grandchildren Christopher Yorlano, Corinne Yorlano, Nicholas Pompetti, Anthony Pompetti, Jennifer Gray, Charlie Wood, Janice Caldwell, Sarah Gilseth, and Kyle Gilseth, and several nieces and nephews. Gloria is preceded in death by husband Ronald Gant, parents Robert and Alma Worrell, sister-in-law Connie Zeiders and niece Bettianne Zeiders.
Gloria was an active and dedicated member of the Corpus Christi Church/St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish and generously volunteered her time with Religious Education, Bingo, caring for the church with her good friend Susie Davis, and was a volunteer at the Salem County Memorial Hospital. She was an avid reader and enjoyed praying the Rosary daily.
Mass of Christian burial will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 4th at Corpus Christi Church/St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, Georgetown Rd., Carney's Point NJ. Burial will follow at the Lawnside Cemetery in Woodstown. Friends may call Friday, August 3rd, from 6-8 PM at the Laughrey Funeral Home, One North Broadway, Pennsville NJ.
