Obituary of Marcella A. Smith

Please share a memory of Marcella to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Marcella A. Smith Marcella left us on March 12 to become an Angel. She was born on September 9, 1916 in Lima, Ohio. Amazingly, she surpassed 100 years of life and with her granddaughter's love, celebrated her birthday with all her care takers and family. She was a loving sister, wife, mother, niece, grand other/nanny, great grandmother and friend. Although Marcella never drove a car or used a computer, she touched so many lives in a positive and humorous (at times) manner. She was a strong woman but always had an open heart. She will always be remembered for having that cup of tea and laugh with all of us! She was predeceased by her soulmate of over 50 years, James B., her five brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her son, James S. (Paula), Joyce Keating (James), grandchildren, Joshua (Candice Taylor), Jacquelyn Franceschini (Jon), Grandsons, Jacob (Beth)and Tai and granddaughter, Nyima. Also, great grandchildren, Otis Smith, Matthew and Trinity Taylor. She will be sadly missed by her devoted caretakers, Joyce and Bobbie and by her two "kids" (her cats). Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 1, at the Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro. In lieu of flowers, the Family suggests donations be made to: The Gypsy Rose Animal Foundation, PO Box 471, Swedesboro, NJ 08085. www.laughreyfuneralhome.com
