With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mildred Cole, affectionately known to friends as Midge and Midger and family as Mom, Grandmom, and Gram Gram. She left us to be with Jesus on, August 2nd, 2026 at the age of 95 after a brief stay at Harmony Memory Care due to complications from Dementia.

Midge was born, June 30th, 1931 to Parents Etta Scull Bauer and Paul 'Zip' Bauer. Midge spent her childhood attending school in Salem, N.J. and spending time in her Father's Motorcycle / Bicycle shop. She graduated from Salem High School in 1949, where she met her beloved husband, Leon Cole. They married when he returned from serving in the Army in 1952.

Midge worked at Western Union out of high school and then at Heinz in Salem as a quality control specialist. Midge and Leon settled in Pennsville and Midge left the workforce for her most cherished role of being a mother to her 2 daughters Paula Blohm (Glenn) and Kim Cole-DaPron (Greg).

After raising their daughters, Midge went to work at Fort Mott State Park in 1976 until her retirement in 1993.

Midge was Grandmom to her 2 amazing Grandson's Christopher Blohm (Beth) and Jason Blohm (Mindy) whom she spent lots of weekends attending their sporting events and cheering them on with pride and spoiling them with her specialty macaroni and cheese.

She is known to her Great Grandchildren Cole Blohm, Trevor Blohm, and Stella Blohm affectionately as Gram Gram whom she cherished and showered with many hugs and Eskimo kisses (nugga nuggas).

Midge was an avid gardener and spent many hours in her yard, tending to her flowers, veggies and caring for and trimming her trees and bushes that she referred to as her 'girls'.

Midge's door was always open for family and friends to visit unannounced where she always had a hot pot of coffee at the ready. Folks always knew they could stop in anytime at the Cole residence to chit chat about local politics or to watch and argue about the latest season, strategy, and lineup of her beloved Phillies.

Midge eventually moved to Maryland to be with her daughter and son-in-law where she spent the last several years until her move to Harmony in June. Her grand-dog Maddie Moo faithfully by her side as a companion through those years.

You would often hear her say she couldn't make it a day without Jesus. It brings great comfort knowing she is finally in the arms of her Savior and rejoicing with Leon and her Parents in Heaven.

Midge's loving devotion to family and friends, her love of Jesus, and her generous spirit is her true legacy and an inspiration to us all to carry on those same values in our lives.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM on Monday, August 10th at the Laughrey Funeral Home where friends may call from 9:00 to 10:00 AM prior to the service. Burial will follow at Fernwood Cemetery, Bridgeton, NJ
