With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Russell M. Buoncuore, age 87, of Woodstown, New Jersey, formerly of Pennsville, New Jersey, who passed away surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on August 20, 1938, in Pennsville, New Jersey, Russell was the son of Orazio and Mary (Insabella) Buoncuore.

Russ was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Lovingly known as "Russ" or "Pop," he was a deeply devoted family man whose greatest joy was spending time with his beloved wife, Myrtle, his family, and his faithful dog, Ruby Rose.

A 1957 graduate of St. James High School, Russ went on to dedicate 50 years of service to the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 542, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His strong work ethic and commitment to his profession earned the respect of many throughout his career.

In his free time, Russ enjoyed golfing, riding his golf cart with friends, exercising several days a week, and visiting with lifelong friends. He treasured the simple pleasures of life and especially enjoyed making memories with those he loved.

Russ was preceded in death by his parents, Orazio and Mary Buoncuore; his brothers, Carmine, Joseph, Ronald, and John; and his sisters, Rose and Theresa.

He is survived by his loving wife, Myrtle Norris Buoncuore; his children, Russell Buoncuore (Kelly), Richard Buoncuore, Nanci Headman, and June Boos; his cherished grandchildren, RJ, Dina, Jami, Jena, Bradley, Abagail, Luke, Jake, and Lily; his beloved great-grandchildren, Cole, Leia, and Simone; his sister-in-law, Mary Gentile (Bill); several nieces and nephews; and his faithful companion, Ruby Rose.

Russ will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His kindness, loyalty, generosity, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends will be remembered always.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 10, at Sharptown Church, 46 Auburn Road, Woodstown, New Jersey, where friends and family may call from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Sharptown Cemetery.
