Cindy Lou Poeta-Goss Obituary

Cindy Lou Poeta-Goss Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cindy Lou Poeta-Goss (68) on April 10, 2026. Cindy passed peacefully at home surrounded by family. Cindy was a woman whose life was defined by love, generosity, and an unwavering devotion to her family.

Cindy was the beloved wife of James Goss and a devoted mother to her daughter, Jacqueline Eckenroad (Edward). She also lovingly embraced her lifelong role as stepmother to Timothy Brown (Kimberly), David Brown (Michele), Nicole Morgan (Jim), Neal Goss (Cathy), and James Goss (Denise). She is also survived by her loving mother, Miriam Poeta, and her brothers, Raymond, Rockey, and J.R. (Dawn) Poeta.

She was truly born to be a mother, and she lived that calling every day. Her home was always open to those in need, and she had a rare gift for making everyone feel welcomed, cared for, and never judged. She spent her life helping others—often quietly, but always wholeheartedly.

Cindy found her greatest joy in her yard, surrounded by her cherished grandchildren: Audrey, Alexandra, Brooks, Sarah, Joshua, and Timmy. Those moments, filled with laughter and love, meant everything to her—and you could always hear her unmistakable, joyful laugh bringing light to those around her.

She was a woman of many talents. A gifted seamstress, she could make anyone feel like Cinderella with her creations. In the kitchen, she was a baker extraordinaire, sharing warmth and comfort through everything she made. She was also a devoted friend and faithful churchgoer, living her life with grace, kindness, and deep compassion.

Cindy has gone to join her beloved father, Rockey Poeta, just in time for his birthday—a reunion surely filled with love.

To know Cindy was to be loved by her. Her legacy is one of selflessness, warmth, and a life beautifully lived in service of others. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the blessing of knowing her.

Services to be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in her honor towards the building of the life-skills unit for Light and Legacy. There young women will learn to sew and become seamstresses just like Cindy.
