John P. Witkowski, Jr., 73, of Newport, Delaware, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026.

John was born on March 28, 1952, in Wilmington, Delaware, to John P. and Lois (Colmery) Witkowski. John grew up in Elsmere and graduated from Henry C. Conrad High School in 1970. He began his career of installing hardwood floors at the young age of 16, apprenticing with a local hardwood floor contractor. He took great pride in his work and eventually owned his own company before his retirement.

John had a deep love for collecting everything from baseball cards to coins, glassware, vinyl albums, and other memorabilia. He enjoyed spending his free time researching the value and history of his many collections.

John was predeceased by his father, John P. Witkowski, Sr., and his brother, Roger Witkowski, Sr. He is survived by his son, Scott Witkowski (Ashley) of Spring, TX; his grandsons, Dylan, Avery, and Joshua Witkowski also of Spring, TX; his mother, Lois Witkowski of West Columbia, SC; his brother and sisters, Joann Discher (Kurt) of Lewes, DE, Robert Witkowski (Monica) of Newark, DE, Susan Skrotsky (Jerry) of Bear, DE, and Lisa Witkowski O'Hara of West Columbia, SC; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
