Maria S. Torres, age 88 of Penns Grove, NJ. Passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at the Autumn Lake Healthcare at Southgate, Carneys point NJ.

She was born in Guayama, PR married her one and only true love Celso L. Torres and raised her family in the Bronx, NY.

She was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and beloved friend to many.

She was formerly a Teacher's Assistant in a Kindergarten setting in St. Anne's Avenue, Bronx, NY

She is survived by, husband, Celso L. Torres, daughters, Arlene L. Torres, Janet M. Torres, Grandsons, Wilson J. Torres, Matthew L. Torres, Isaiah E. Torres, great grandchildren, Gage Torres, Isabella M. Torres, Dylann J. Torres, and Nolann Torres, her second Great Granddaughter who will be born Summer of 2026.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother aunt, and wonderful friend to many. She loved her family wholeheartedly, life, music, food, religion, magazines, reading, her Sunday mass, a devout Catholic to the Virgin Mary. She Loved the holidays, and family reunions during this time.

She is and will forever be our greatest love, joy, inspiration, and the rock that holds our family together. Her love was unequivocally unconditional.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM on Friday February 27th at the St. Gabriel the Archangel Parrish, Corpus Christi Church, 369 Georgetown Rd. Carney's Point, NJ 08069. Friends may call Thursday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM the Laughrey Funeral Home, 1 N Broadway, Pennsville, NJ prior to the Mass. Burial will follow at the Lawnside Cemetery, Woodstown. NJ.
