Richard Dale Quann Sr., age 74 of Pennsville, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, one week shy of his 75th birthday. Richard was born on December 18, 1950, in Elmer, NJ to the late Eleanor and Raymond Quann.

After graduating from Pennsville Memorial High School in 1969, Richard enlisted in the U.S. Army and served honorably in Vietnam. After his discharge from the Army, he married his high school sweetheart, Beverly (Benner) Quann, on June 9, 1973.

He worked many jobs in Salem County, including glass and canning factories, and then joined Delaware Park Racetrack as a Security Officer where he retired after 20 years in 2015.

Richard was a loving and caring husband and father who was committed to his family. His pride and joy were his daughter Erin and son Richie. A man of few words who listened intently and had sharp wit, he followed his routines to a T…coffee at 6, bedtime at 10, and never missed his weekly wrestling matches on TV.

Richard enjoyed traveling with his family, collecting mugs from everywhere he went, having nearly 100 on his shelves today. He also liked to fish, hunt, and enjoyed going to restaurants with family and friends where he would try exotic foods from rattlesnake to alligator. He was an avid animal lover; any cat or dog instantly became his best friend. He especially enjoyed spending time with his cats over the years, with a tabby named Willy always being by his side.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Beverly, and his children Erin (Michael) and Richard Jr. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Carol Tucker and Joan Robertson, and several loving nieces, nephews and their families.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday December 19th at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Finn's Point National Cemetery.
