Peter Baccile Obituary

Peter Baccile (94) passed away peacefully on November 21, 2025. His unique sense of humor, timeless style, endless support and generosity will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Born on December 22, 1930, he grew up in Penns Grove, NJ. As a teenager he worked as a "pin boy" at the YMCA Bowling Alley in Carney's Point and loved spending free time at the Riverview Beach Amusement Park. In 1950, after graduating high school, he enlisted in the Marines and served in the Korean War as a Sergeant until 1954. After being discharged, he lived in California and then Philadelphia before meeting his wife, Sandra, in 1959. They were married in 1960 and spent 63 years together until she passed away in 2023. He also worked for the Dupont Company for over 25 years as a first class carpenter.

Peter loved traveling, spending time with family, and being an active member of his church, Trinity United Methodist, where he was the sound technician for many years. He and Sandra were also faithful volunteers of Salem County's Meals on Wheels program for 30 years. He enjoyed making homemade spaghetti and meatballs for family and friends using an old family recipe passed down through the generations. He was passionate about music and movies from the 1930's, 40's and 50's. His favorite musicians were Gene Autry and Frank Sinatra, which was reflected in his extensive music and movie collections. He was very supportive, never missing a grandchild's sporting event, concert or play. He also attended as many of the great grandchildren's events as long as he was physically able. He and Sandra dined at the Pennsville Cracker Barrel with friends every Friday night and looked forward to seeing their favorite waitress, Margie.

Peter's family is grateful for the gift of sharing so many wonderful years and memories with him. He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Sandra Baccile. He is survived by his children Pat Bagley (Jamie) and Peter M. Baccile (Robin); his grandchildren, Jessica Cassidy, Andrew Bagley, Daniel Bagley (Kate), Jonathan Bagley (Amber), and Kylee Vazquez (Christopher); and his great grandchildren Jonathan, Jesslynn, Isaiah, Zion, Evie, Micah, Luella, Arya, Eliza, Easton, Layla, and Myles.

Peter's service will be graveside at Lawnside Cemetery in Woodstown, NJ on Monday November 24th at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Salem County Meals on Wheels.
